ESTEEMED HONOREES
Gil & Lysee Stein
Gil and Lysee Stein began their KHDS journey in 2010 when they enrolled their oldest child in EC2. Over the past 14 years, they have since graduated Kayla (Class of ‘22) and currently have two children enrolled: Joshua (6th grade) and Ariella (2nd grade).
Several years after they first joined the KHDS family, and as they became more involved in the school and community, Gil joined the KHDS Board of Trustees during the 2015-16 school year. He also became a member of the school’s Finance Committee, and in 2020–21 he became co-treasurer, and shortly thereafter he assumed sole responsibility as KHDS treasurer since 2022–23. Gil is dedicated to ensuring our financial sustainability and has spent countless hours working on budgets and other financial-related projects, working closely with the Head of School, Executive Director, President, and Board. He is deeply committed to ensuring an affordable and stellar Jewish education for our children through his volunteer work. Gil was also a former board member of Boca Raton Synagogue. In his spare time, Gil is the owner of Hercules Roofing, a highly respected commercial and residential roofing company.
Lysee has also been extremely involved in KHDS through her volunteer efforts at PTA events and programs, has been a member of the PTA Guardian of Learning Society, currently runs the Class of 2026 B’nai Mitzvah Fund, and has assisted with many annual PTA Ice Cream Social events. Lysee also taught Chinuch for KHDS’ Camp Ruach and has been involved with the BRS Sisterhood, helping with various programs, events, and fundraisers over the years. As well as keeping the Stein clan in check, she is the Director of Girls Israel Guidance and a Judaic Studies teacher at our neighboring school, Katz Yeshiva High School where she has the opportunity to teach and guide many of our alumni.
Gil and Lysee are extremely dedicated to KHDS, the community, and Israel. The Steins have generously and consistently supported all of the school’s fundraisers year after year, including being Tribute Committee members for the Annual Journal Dinner, participating in and sponsoring a variety of swag at the Annual Family Golf Outing, participating in the Mega Raffle, crowdfunding campaigns, Burn the Mortgage, and other programs through earmarked designated gifts. They recognize the importance of planned giving and are members of the school’s Atid Legacy Society. Their consistent and widespread philanthropy is to be commended, as the Steins are role models for our children and the community.
Gil and Lysee currently live in Boca Raton with their children and often travel to Israel, where Gil’s parents, his brother, as well as Lysee’s brother, and their families live. Gil & Lysee dream of making Israel their home.
